Peace
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3: 15-17
On any given day, we experience many emotions. And sometimes
those emotions will try to rule our hearts. This happens when we spend too much
time being anxious, angry, depressed, or fearful. But the good news is, we have
the power within us to choose between letting our emotions rule within us, or letting
the Prince of Peace flood our soul with tranquility and thankfulness.
When people watch us apply the power we’re promised in God’s
Word, we have a much better chance of reaching them in Christ’s love. Your
family, friends, and co-workers see what you’re going through in your life,
sometimes on a daily basis. How you handle yourself and your emotions can make
a great impact for Christ.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving us emotions. Help us to control them in
a way that allows Your peace to rule over them all, so that we might be a light
of love to everyone around us. We make this prayer in Christ’s name.
Amen
