Running to Disney

I am currently training to run in the Disney's The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler Weekend. There are many reasons that I am running this marathon, but one of the main reasons is:
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 10-Miler Weekend benefits Autism Speaks, an organization dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. With the support of volunteers and participants in Autism Speaks Team Up program, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 10-Miler Weekend will help bring the autism community together as one strong voice to urge the government and private sector to listen to our concerns and take action to address this urgent global health crisis. It is Autism Speaks firm belief that, working together, we will find the missing pieces of the puzzle. We are committed to raising the funds necessary to support these goals. To learn more visit autismspeaks.org

I feel like this is a cause that needs to be outreached and taught because many people do not understand what it does and how it affects many people's lives. So I am all about training for this marathon.

I am currently running anywhere from 12 to 15 miles a day. I usually run just a little over an hour. I train in heavier shoes, but have the same form as my actual running shoes. I have many family and friends running in the marathon too and we have been discussing how to keep hydrated (its hot even in the mornings, and our race will be at night), how to keep our sodium balance, and how to stay pumped.

Hydration is easy one for me. I have take two different water bottles. One of them I keep in my vehicle in a cooler in the back and the other one goes with me. Nathan Quickdraw Plus Handheld 22-Ounce Bottle Carrier with Pocket is what I use when I actually go running.

Then to keep my sodium balance and my second water bottle were both purchase from a company, that I highly recommend and I love, called Nuun. I have 5 friends that love it as well and all are very active runners. I have love the tabs they not only add a hint of flavor to my waters, but they keep me healthy! I love the banana, strawberry-lemonade, and lemon-lime flavors. Yes they are expensive, but they are completely worth it.

My next one is the other thing that saves me on my running for an hour is my towel. I love my towel like you wouldn't believe. I love my running outfit (though that's for another post.) However, my towel stands out among the rest; Froggtoggs Chilly Pad Super Cooling Towel-Pink Hyper.
